Razor E200 Electric Scooter

Welcome to the site where I’ve taken time to research why you might want a Razor E200 Electric Scooter. Here you’ll find an exhaustive research with buying tips and tricks to get free shipping and the lowest price. My 9 year old had been wanting one of these for a long, long time and I did my due diligence. I ask you to do the same, but hope these pages give you a head start.

The Razor E200 Electric Scooter

Razor did well when they set out to understand the scooter market before flooding it with one or two simple models. Today, there are many different Razor models and here’s how to find the right one for your kid. First, you want an electric scooter that will be challenging for your child. Buying something they will tire of or grow quickly out of is something you want to avoid, because the Razor electric scooters last a long time. The Razor E200 Electric Scooter is designed for kids 12 and up and has adjustable handlebars for most sizes. If you buy something smaller, chances are your child will find it doesn’t quite ride fast enough, or perform well enough.

Razor E200 Scooter

Also called the E200 scooter, this high performer can be off the charger with a full charge in 8 hours and ride continuously for 45 minutes. That isn’t short, really. I thought it was, but this means with the electric motor running at full for 45 minutes. At 12 miles per hour, you can go far away in 45 minutes. For off and on riding, it will stay charged for most of the day. My child uses hers to go down to the next street to a friends house. We allow her to ride on the sidewalk because most bikes do, and it should be permissible, but check with local authorities (on the web for your city) to be sure.

Fast Electric Scooter

The Razor E200 Electric Scooter has a full sized deck for your feet and the surface is created non-slip for extra safety. I thought the scooter was designed strictly for kids, but according to the manual you can put up to 220 pounds on the deck with no problems. This means I get to ride it, too. And the speed is perfect. At 12 mph you are zipping pretty fast on the ground. The deck lies close to the ground so the feeling is awesome. And you don’t want your child going much faster than this because a lot can happen quickly at 12 mph. Any faster and it would be that less safe.

Razor E200 Battery

I worried that the continual charging of the battery pack would exhaust it after a bit, but am happy to say that I was wrong. There are two packs to the Razor E200 electric scooter and the total charge time should be overnight. Because of the nature of use of the scooter, the battery is hit every few minutes for high discharge. But these are high capacity batteries and this isn’t an issue. And to set my mind at ease, the battery pack for the Razor E200 is available online for a very good price. I wouldn’t pay over $50 for it (excluding shipping.) You probably won’t have to buy one for a year or so, so don’t worry.

Razor E200 Charger

The charger for the scooter needs to stay indoors, or at least protected from the elements. Rain will damage the charger. Also, I noted that the plug that goes into the Razor E200 electric scooter has a plastic end that appears more rugged than it really is. What this means is you can’t yank the connector out by the cord. Most of the charges offered online are similar to the one that comes with the scooter, but some people felt that it didn’t charge as well. This could be that the battery was also getting older.
